We obtained our first Golden Retriever in 1977, shortly after we were married. My parents would not allow me to have a dog. Amber took to
training well and obtained her Utility Dog Title and her Working Certificate. She also had a starring role in the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point Theater Department’s production of “Annie.” She had a wonderful temperament and opened many doors for us. By then, we were hooked on the world of dog shows and obtained our first show dog. We bred our first litter in 1984 and breed approximately 1 litter per year; all breeding stock has OFA hips, elbows, eye and heart clearances. We have been fortunate to have had a number of outstanding brood bitches and 1 stud dog that have produced quality puppies. It has been our goal to produce well-socialized, structurally sound Golden Retrievers willing to work. Our dogs have earned MACH agility titles, Utility Dog titles, Tracking Dog Excellent titles, Working Certificate Excellent titles, as well as service dogs and beloved pets. Personally we have earned 132 titles on 22 of our dogs.
We have been active in a number of local and national dog clubs, holding various officer and director positions. These clubs include Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club, Badger Golden Retriever Club, Northern Flyway Golden Retriever Club, Pecatonica Tracking Club, Timber Ridge Obedience Club of Central Wisconsin, and Golden Retriever Club of America (“GRCA”). We abide by the GRCA Code of Ethics (
